We started the evening with a sparkling drinks reception where guests had the opportunity to connect before dinner.

Our guests were then formally welcomed by our new President, Judith Cochrane and she shared exciting news about the launch of our updated website and membership database and the collaborative work going on between the Council and the alumni team in the College.

We heard the latest news from our Principal, Jenny Lendrum and that this year the College was the most oversubscribed school in Northern Ireland, had our best Form 1 intake and our highest 6th Form intake. Mrs Lendrum also gave an update on some estate developments and exciting opportunities to come, including the Chapel Choir's forthcoming trip to New York to sing in Carnegie Hall in January 2025. We hope to be able to connect with Methody Collegians based in NYC to coincide with this wonderful opportunity.

Mr Kennedy, then updated on the planned re-introduction of a House system to the school, with plenty of history and explanations for the new House names.

And in a change of format, instead of a guest speaker, we had ‘Conversations over Coffee’ with some of our own Collegians. This was chaired by Jenny Christie - Class of 1994 (Jen Christie Counselling and on the panel was Paul Marshall - Class of 2003 (ex Ulster and Ireland rugby player),  Lisa Skinner - Class of 2000 (Order In The House) and Laura Graham-Brown - Class of 1991 (Arcadia Delicatessen).

Thank you to our special guests, the Presidents from other Voluntary Grammar schools; to our chair and panellists for their humour, candour and being up for reminiscing about their time at school and most importantly to all those who attended.  There was a great atmosphere and buzz in the room and we were delighted to see people enjoying each others company and chatting long after the formalities ended.
