Making a Difference Through Your Network

The third Collegians Business Network event took place on Thursday 28 May 2026 at the KPMG offices in the Soloist Building, Belfast, marking a continued expansion of the event beyond the Methody campus. The event brought together members of the Collegians network for a morning of insight, connection, and inspiration. The session was hosted by Paul Marshall (Class of 2003) and kindly facilitated by James Neill (Class of 1999) at KPMG who provided a fantastic breakfast.

The event featured two distinguished alumni and business leaders:

Roger Johnston (Class of 1983) – CEO of Axial3D

Graeme Neill (Class of 1984) – Managing Director of CRN Financial Group

Both speakers shared their personal journeys into the business world, reflecting on the experiences, inspirations, and challenges that shaped their careers. Their stories highlighted the importance of perseverance, innovation, and strong professional relationships.

A central theme throughout the breakfast was the power of networking and collective impact.

A key takeaway from the event was the concept of the “ripple effect.” The speakers emphasised that when individuals are genuinely passionate about a cause or idea, it becomes much easier to inspire others to support it. This support can spread organically, as people share the message within their own networks, creating a widening ripple of influence and opportunity.

Another recurring message was the importance of growing together through collaboration. Both speakers highlighted that success is rarely achieved in isolation. Instead, building and maintaining a strong, supportive network is essential for long-term growth and impact. They reinforced the idea that surrounding yourself with the right people who bring different perspectives, skills, and connections can significantly enhance both personal and professional success.

The third Collegians Business Network event was a highly engaging and thought-provoking event, offering valuable insights into how meaningful connections can drive success and positive change. The contributions of Roger Johnston and Graeme Neill provided attendees with practical lessons and inspiration to apply within their own networks.

We extend our thanks to all speakers, organisers, and attendees who contributed to the success of this event. The next Collegians Business Breakfast is scheduled to take place in September 2026, with further details to be announced very soon.

Methody Collegians is a non-profit organisation.
