It has been an absolute privilege to serve as President of Methody Collegians over the past year, and I am excited to continue this journey as we build further momentum into 2025/26. When I stepped into the role last June, I was both apprehensive and ambitious as I shared a vision for a renewed, inclusive, and engaging Collegians community. and I’m proud to say that together, we have made meaningful progress towards that goal.

Over the last twelve months, our Council has worked hard to re-energise the organisation, with a clear focus on connectivity, relevance, and global reach. We are embracing change while remaining true to the enduring spirit of Methody.

One of our biggest achievements has been the development of our new member database, a much-needed step forward. This system is already enabling us to reconnect with Collegians far and wide, making communication more personal and purposeful. We are working to ensure the platform becomes a true hub for news, events, reunions, and meaningful engagement across the Methody family.

In parallel, our online presence has grown stronger—with a refreshed website and lively social media channels keeping Collegians informed and involved. We now have a rolling events calendar featuring both local and international gatherings. The NYC dinner was a powerful example of how the shared Methody experience can instantly turn strangers into friends. Upcoming events in Edinburgh and London will continue to build these bonds.

Looking ahead, we are preparing to launch the Collegians Business Network, and planning is underway for a Collegians Choir, with a Christmas performance that we hope becomes a new annual tradition. We are also deepening links with sporting organisations such as the Collegians Golf Societies and Belfast Harlequins—ensuring that Methody’s legacy of teamwork and camaraderie continues in all forms.

Our goal remains to offer alumni ways to make a positive impact on each other and on the College, and to connect meaningfully across generations.

But we cannot grow without you. If you haven’t yet joined or renewed your membership, please do so HERE, and invite at least one other Collegian to sign up.

As ever, I welcome your ideas, your involvement, and your support. Whether you’re a recent leaver or a long-standing Collegian, this is your organisation—and there’s never been a better time to reconnect.

I hope to see many of you at our growing list of events in the year ahead.

With thanks and enthusiasm,

Judith Cochrane (Class of 1994)
