Methody Collegians were pleased to formally launch our updated website and Membership Database at the Annual Dinner on Friday 20th September, 2024.
The website now includes a secure 'Members Only' section where you can reach out to other Collegians with similar interests, careers, or to those who live in the same area. It can also be used to locate fellow Class Members to facilitate reunions and will provide the College with contacts for career support and work placements for current pupils. Members can also opt in to receive regular updates from the College, information on Methody Collegians events and opportunities to volunteer or mentor on an intergenerational basis.
Whilst it will take some time to grow the database of members, the aim is to empower all Methody Collegians to make a valuable impact on each other and on the College.
Speaking at the Annual Dinner, the association President, Judith Cochrane, said, "The Methody Collegians Council has been working closely with the Principal, Mrs Lendrum, and Alumni Team in the College to develop plans to engage Collegians, near and far and to encourage them to commit to giving back to the community that helped shape them."
"This evening, I want to emphasize the importance of growing our membership. The strength of Methody Collegians will be in our numbers, and the more alumni we have actively engaged, the more we can achieve together. Whether it’s through mentoring current students, offering career advice, organising events, or simply staying in touch, there is a place for everyone in this community.
I encourage each of you to reach out to fellow Collegians and invite them to join us, and share with them the benefits of staying connected. Together, we can provide invaluable support to current students, strengthen our bonds with each other, and continue to contribute to the success of Methodist College Belfast."
